New mural at the Old Spotted Dog Ground to mark Cable Street 90th anniversary

Not then, not now – a new mural to celebrate the Battle of Cable Street has been painted on the corner of the Old Spotted Dog Ground Clubhouse.

It was commissioned by Unite the Union and created by Ruff Draft Design to mark 90 years since tens of thousands of people came together to stop Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists from marching and terrorising the East End’s Jewish community.

Here are some of the photos.
